I have seen somewhere an official price for guides eg 2 people 450Dhs for 3.5 hours etc.

Does anyone have a reference for it or can point me to it?

Definitely a scam. To a native Enligh speaker it is obvious. If anyone ever gets an email lile this and they are not sure v
contact me. The big clue is offering to pay a substantial part ny card in advance
The card will be false, and they will ask for a refund by Western Union before it is realised.

I think we were contacted and told we had to do it. I can give you contact details of the person we deal with at the gendarmerie/wilaya when my assistant come back from the Eid break on Wednesday. I know that his name is Abdeljalil and I think he is the same person that you give the guest register to at the end of the month. It’s a bit of a pain installing the system, but Abdel can assist, in the usual way. Once you are doing it you have to complete the online registration the day of arrivals or departure else you get told off by the tourist office in Gueliz.

Anyone having trouble with online reviews, and particularly TripAdvisor might like to join http://www.kwikchex.com. There is an annual subscription fee.

They are an online reputation management consultant and they will take up individual cases with TA for their members. They often get good press in the UK for their criticisms of TripAdvisor.

Sorry for this being in English

Excuse me for writing in English. We get many of these and for a non-mother tongue English speaker it can be difficult to spot. Usually there are some errors in the main text, but this one is quite good. Except Croydon in the address is incorrectly spelt, and the postcode is not correct for Croydon – it would start CR, not E, which would be east London.

I usually delete straight away any enquiry that looks too good be true, like 4 rooms 10 nights. And yes the scam is the card details are stolen, and then they ask you for a refund either to another card or more likely by Western Union. You can forward the enquiry to CMI, just so they know.
